Brit's Parents -- We're Soooo Frustrated

Jamie SpearsThe following statement was released to CNN's Anderson Cooper by Jamie and Lynne Spears, Britney's parents:

"As parents of an adult child in the throws (sic) of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

17. Britney doesn't take orders. And she loves the attention so what's a father to do?

18. Awe mannnn - they really do have their hands tied. Can't say they're not trying though! We very well be reading an obituary as early as this weekend!

19. It's about time. Sadly, there is little that can be done, legally. It's still nice to see that finally her parents are (publicly) acting like parents who have her best interests at heart. If there is one silver lining about this whole situation, perhaps it is the light being shined on what a shambles the mental health system is in this nation.

21. The hospital was afraid Britney would sue. Better to let her kill someone or herself than sue the hospital

22. I hope the courts enforce the orders so that Brit can get the help she desperately needs. She and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. We can all only hope that she has an angel watching over her. God bless, Mr & Mrs, Spears.

23. YES!! This is what Brit REALLY wants, attention from her dad (who is in a very tought spot for a father). I don't know why they waited this long to intervene, but finally her parents are stepping up to the plate. Britney is sick and needs help.

24. This is really sad. As a sibling to someone who has mental health issues, I find it a disgrace as to how long it takes these days to first of all, diagnose a mental illness, and don't even get me started on all the medications that have to be tried to find one that "works". These "professionals" leave it up to the patient to decide whether or not they need to change medications or if they're well enough to leave hospital care in some cases, and that is just wrong. What a flawed medical system. I feel for Britney because she has to deal with her issues in the public eye. We can only sit back and watch the catastrophe unfold. I really hope this does not end badly.

25. I trust her parents. But there comes a point where they have to let go. She is determined to ruin her life, so let her. I was so happy she was finally getting help. I thought she would come out a different person. She loves her life just the way it is. Soon her fortune will be gone too and she will have nothing. Very sad

It appears Sam Lutfi is out to set the record straight and he’s hired a former Federline confidant to help him tell his tale.

Michael Sands, the former spokesperson for Kevin Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is now representing Lutfi, Sands confirmed in an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood.

"I'm really honored to represent a true American hero who's a standup guy and goes the distance. I'm grateful and humbled by the opportunity to represent a young man of Sam Lutfi's caliber,” Sands told Access. “He is a person who has integrity. What an act of God that he came to me.”

Earlier this week, Lutfi was the target of a restraining order filed by Britney’s parents, Jamie and Lynne, filled with sordid accusations against Lufti.

Kaplan reportedly fired Sands late last week.
